So I am in love with Anolon! This is the third product I’m reviewing for Anolon and I must say…it has been quite a pleasure. The cookware set and square baking pan both cook so nicely, clean up is a breeze, and they both look so pretty too. They have become my favorite dishes to use in the kitchen, and now I’ve added to the collection.
I have a few other cast iron skillets, but I’ll be honest, I hate the feel of them. I know that sounds strange, but I do, therefore I rarely use them. This 5-quart cast iron braiser has a beautiful paprika red porcelain enamel finish on the outside so it literally feels just like the square Anolon baking dish. The inside is a beautiful black matte cast iron finish that doesn’t need to be pre-seasoned before cooking. It’s 16.34″ L x 13.39″ W x 7.28″ H so there is ample room to cook up a delicious meal.
Look at the beautiful sear on that meat! I just preheated the braiser on the stove, added a little olive oil into it and then tossed in the roast. I seared it on both sides which only took a few minutes being that the braiser is cast iron. Then I tossed in some carrots, potatoes, beef broth, and some seasonings.
See how much food this actually holds? I placed on the lid (which is self-basting and has a stainless steel handle) and put it into the oven. This is a feature I love! The Anolon 5 quart Cast Iron Braiser is so versatile that it can be used on top of the stove, then into the oven (up to 500º F), and straight to the table. How convenient is that? Then once dinner is over, you just hand wash it with a little soap and water, and make sure it is completely dry before you put it away…quite simple don’t you think? I have made so many dinners in here already!
I cannot say enough about this pan! Believe me, once you try it you’re going to love it. It retails for $129.99, however I have another one to give away to one of you! Just enter the contest below…good luck!
Please note that I was given a Cast Iron Braiser to review, however the opinions expressed are my own.
