    After taking a pizza out of the oven, I take a paper towel and blot the top of the pizza, soaking up all the excess grease.

    When I cook hamburger in a skillet for casseroles, I cook it in water instead of oil and when it is cooked thoroughly I put it in a strainer and run hot water over it. I never have any of the grease.

    I choose my beverages wisely and minimize empty calories that way. I drink mostly water. I also eat yogurt every morning and choose nonfat over the other types to limit calories there as well.

    I read food labels and look for lower fat products. I also watch my portion sizes, and eliminated fried foods and sugary drinks from my diet.

    I always drain my hamburger with a turkey baster and then pour it into a bowl with lots of paper towels and a couple on the top.

    I do a number of things…use splenda in my coffee, along with fat free creamer…replace oil with applesauce…eat nonfat yogurt..rinse fried burger to lower fat content…use whole wheat bread and pasta…lite cream cheese and sour cream. I would still LOVE to have this book!

    I don’t drink soda anyway so I can’t say that is my way to daily save calories…I drink water instead of picking up a snack to eat first…then if I am hungry after a nice glass of water…I will aim for some almonds and raisins over chips and cheese!

    One way I cut calories is I primarily drink water. I never drink soda, and may, on a very rare (maybe once a month) occasion have a cup of coffee.

    I use Truvia instead of sugar; I drink nothing but water; I eat my sandwiches and hamburgers bunless; and I only buy lowfat frozen yogurt rather than icecream.

    I try to cook with oil instead of butter, when possible. I buy the “less fat” or “no artificial sweeteners”. And I try to drink alot of water throughout the day :)

    I use spray butter instead of real butter or margarine. I use lemon for salad dressing. I eat corn pasta instead of regular pasta.

    I always drink water. I wait at least 45 minutes before and after eating to drink any beverages. Always use one slice of multi grain bread instead of two – open face sandwiches. Always use wheat pasta, brown rice. I use turkey ground (love open faced turkey burgers- with tons of garlic, onion, bell pepps, spinach, habanero, tomato, cilantro loaded into each patty!!!) and always make sure greens and veggies dominate the plate.

    I cut out calories each day by drinking water – no more soda for me. I am also eating more fresh raw veggies (carrots, cucumbers, broccoli, caulifower, etc.) since we planted our garden this year so I’m not grabbing junk foods to snack on.

    I switched out all my “whites” for whole wheats (pasta, breads, rice) and I have introduced my family to the “other meats” (ground turkey and chicken, turkey/chicken sausage). I have lost 10lbs since 9/2/11 and I feel FABULOUS!!!

    As for the optionals: I am addicted to Facebook but don’t “Tweet” or Blog LOL and I am a friend of yours already and a fan of Busy Moms. :)
