It’s no big secret, we LOVE cheese in the Doiron house.  We’ll melt cheese on just about anything!  So guess who was thrilled when they got some new cheese to review?  Yup, I was one happy camper when my “Melt Your Meal Kit” arrived!

Before I get into the giveaway, let me share a little bit about Roth Grand Cru® cheese.  There are three Grand Cru® choices – Original, Reserve, and Surchoix.

Grand Cru® is Roth’s signature cheese. It’s made with the freshest milk in imported copper vats and aged in their cellars for at least 4 months. Robust and full-bodied, this award-winning cheese melts beautifully and will soon become one of your favorite cheeses to cook with.

Grand Cru® Original

Before I cooked with this cheese, Dave and I enjoyed some a lot of cheese and crackers.  What can I say, I have to review it and give my honest opinion!

Grand Cru® cheese is very mild and addicting with crackers.  With it’s mild taste, I would imagine that it would be very popular with the kiddos.

Grand Cru® Original cheese is recommended in potato dishes, so I made some Scalloped Potatoes using 1½ cups of shredded cheese.

It came out great!  This cheese really does melt nicely!

I’m not sure I would have time to make something; my 15 year old son devours any type of cheese as soon as we get it in the door!

    Charlotte Moore says

If my husband did not eat it all first I might try the ham and potato casserole I make. A good hot cheese dip could be in order too.

Thanks for the chance to win.

Our family sounds like yours.. we LOVE cheese here. I do not get the people who think “stay away from dairy” who include hard, aged cheeses in the ban… Aged cheeses are an ancient food that is a basic thing! Not one thing wrong with aged cheeses! They are in fact VERY good for you. I have SO many recipes I do not know what I would do with this cheese at this moment. One of my favs is a pasta/brocolli/bacon bits cheese one. Yum

    Lynne Bohman says

I would start as you did with cheese and crackers, then I would make mac-n-cheese. What a yummy giveaway! Thanks!

I use it to top my baked French onion soup. We live 20 miles from the plant that makes Roth’s Grand Cru Alpine-style cheese. It is very good quality cheese.

I do not like to cook much but this looks like a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich just waiting to happen, most of the time I just eat cheese with crackers and veggies or as grilled cheese. I enjoy using different types of cheeses to make the sandwiches especially using a Panini grill.

    Coarie Pinion says

I would put this on anything! Would make a great grilled cheese with avocado, tomato, and bacon! YUM!

I love to snack on cheese and crackers….what i do is find a really nice cracker to try and lay numerous ones out on a microwave dish and drop a small amount of Billy Bees honey mustard on each one and then slices of cheese on top…into the microwave for a short time and i am all set to indulge. There is a new Ritz cracker out that i have not tried yet, bacon flavored, and this sounds like a marvelous combination. Thank you for this opportunity.

    Colleen P says

They have a recipe on their website for 5 Peppercorn Raclette Caprese Flatbread that I would love to try out!

Either pizza or lasagna, unless I didn’t want to share with my kiddos, and then I would melt it over steamed broccoli :)

  19. 86

    ten b says

i’d make homemade mac & cheese. And maybe just some plain old chunks of cheese on a plate with grapes and crackers.

  20. 90

I soooo love cheese!! I would make all kinds of things: Mac&Cheese, Scalloped Potatoes, Grilled Cheese and Lasagna. I would also top my extra cheese 4 types of pizza. Yumo :)

I have a scalloped potato casserole I make a lot and would love to try this cheese in it. It sounds delicious.

  22. 97

If my kids (ok, me) didn’t eat it all as is, I’d melt it on crispy potato wedges. Perhaps THAT will convince them to eat potatoes, finally!

    Kimberly Jones says

I would of course eat some with crackers, but I’d love to try it in Mac n’ cheese!! That is one of my favorite go to dishes a d I love tweaking my recipe and trying new cheeses:-)
