I’d like to thank everyone who added a recipe to my Slow Cooker Recipe Linky! All of your recipes look so yummy! The Linky is still open if you’d like to add your favorites! I’m on a mission to get more use out of my slow cooker. I knew I couldn’t go wrong with this recipe because Andrew (my 16 year old) loves Pulled Pork Sandwiches, so surely he’d like it with beef! Right? Yep! He did! I made sure to use his favorite smoky barbecue sauce and added some Chili powder for good measure! It came out great! I seriously wanted a second one! But I didn’t! I wish I could send some of this to my son Matthew in NY. He would love it! I’ll have to make this again some time and freeze some small portions for him. Matthew is getting ready to start his final semester of his senior year in college. I’m hoping he comes home on his March break. I miss that boy of mine!
Slow Cooked Pulled Beef Sandwiches
3 lbs. beef chuck roast
1 cup Bull’s-Eye Original Barbecue Sauce
1/2 cup Ketchup
2 tablespoons light brown sugar
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
2 tablespoons spicy mustard
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1. Turn the slow cooker on high heat. Rinse the beef under cold water and place in the slow cooker.
2. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a medium bowl and pour over the beef.
3. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. (I have not cooked this on low heat yet, so I’m not quite sure how long it would take on low.)
4. When the beef is done, place the beef on a plate and shred it with 2 forks. Return the beef to the sauce and mix well. Serve on a hamburger bun.
Makes 8 sandwiches
