Today’s guest post is from Laura at Tutti Dolci.  Check out her Strawberry Hand Pies!  After seeing her photo, you’re probably wondering (like me) when the local strawberries will be ready.  I don’t think we can pick them until late June/early July.  But rest assured…when I can get my hands on some good strawberries, I’ll be making some of these cute little pastries!

While the filling possibilities are endless, I made a quick strawberry compote flavored with fresh lemon zest and vanilla. The jammy filling works nicely with the buttery and flaky pastry, and an egg wash adds a golden glaze. Serve alongside strawberry sherbet for a double delight.

Thanks for sharing your recipe with us, Laura!

These little pies look amazing – a must try recipe! Thanks! Stumbled.

I’m with you Jane. Can’t wait for the strawberries to be in season. What’s with the nuclear strawberries that are the size of a small apple in the grocery stores?
We’ve gone picking strawberries right up the road here too. They are so good!
